Funeral services for William "Chris" Cox, 56, of Anchorage, Alaska, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Crews officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery.
Chris passed away on October 5, 2024, in Anchorage.
William Christopher Cox was born in Dallas, Texas, on November 13, 1967, to William "Bill" Elmer Cox and Margie Augusta Cox. He earned his Associate of Arts degree from Richland Community College near Dallas and was a member of the Muldoon Community Assembly of God Church in Anchorage, where he has lived for most of his life. Chris has been self-employed as a landowner and owned and operated a number of businesses in the food and beverage industry. He enjoyed traveling, music, comedy, and had a keen sense of humor. He was known to be a hard worker, an exceptional host, and generous to a fault.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Survivors include his parents, Bill and Margie Cox of Gun Barrel City; his siblings, Marjorie "Ellen" Cox of Gun Barrel City and Monica Suzanne Mattis and husband Greg of Anchorage; and his niece and nephew, Brittany Bullard of Anchorage and Trip Mattis of Anchorage.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
