Christopher "Chris" Craig Danielson, 34, of Merrillan, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2024.
Chris was born June 20, 1990, in Black River Falls, WI, to Craig and Penny (Collum) Danielson. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 2009.
After graduation, he worked at Countryside Hides and Nelson Muffler for some time, before beginning a career as the Superintendent of the Village of Merrillan.
Chris was a very avid outdoors man and spent many hours hunting and fishing. He was an amazing mentor to Kaylee and Heziki, and even though his son was not old enough to yet hunt, he still took him out in the stand deer, turkey, and bear hunting.
Chris enjoyed spending quality time on the annual South Dakota fishing trip with his dad and Chris Abbott. Chris was always the life of the party and had a smile that would light up the room. He was a wonderful son, father, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by his 5-year-old son, Kaison, of Menasha, Wisconsin, who was the light of his life; his parents Penny and Craig; sisters Jessica (Silvio) Danielson of Merrillan and Natasha Danielson of Orange Park, Florida, and his brother from another mother and father, Heziki Littlebird of Merrillan; his grandmother Karen Danielson; nieces Kaylee Carrillo of Merrillan, Seirra Danielson, Samara and Shaylee Dudley of Orange Park, Florida; his aunts and uncles Craig and Tisha Collum of Roseville, California, Dean Danielson of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Lori and Greg Ortgiesen of Bellville, Wisconsin, Steve and LuAnn Green of Merrillan, Wisconsin, Lawrence Green of Warsaw, Missouri, Teri and Danny Collum of Merrillan, Wisconsin, Karl and Betty Danielson of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Ron Danielson of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, and Judy Danielson of Black River Falls, Wisconsin. He is further survived by his son's mother, Sonja Nolan of Menasha, Wisconsin, his close cousins Steve Andrews and Kayla Green (who was known to Chris as "Sis") and many other cousins and relatives, all of whom he loved dearly.
Chris is also survived by many special friends including Chris Abbott, Lori Bryan, Griffin Abbott, Chris Wruck, Jessica and Brandon Sandborn, Karl Miller, as well as his extended Deerview and Hatfield Sports Shop family.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vicky and Gerald Collum, paternal grandfather Arlan Danielson, and special aunt and uncle, Marsha and Dennis Myher, and his aunt Margaret Green.
Visitation will be held at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home on July 11, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 12, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Gile Memorial Park in Merrillan, dress code is casual.
