Chris Fuentes, 62, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024 in Roswell, NM, at home surrounded by his family. Please take a moment to share a kind thought or memory with Chris' family at www.andersonbethany.com.
On December 16, 1961, Chris was born to Joe and Gloria Fuentes in Roswell, NM. He attended Roswell High School and then enlisted into the National Guard to later join in the United States Army.
He was the beloved husband of Juanita who he married on October 23, 1996 in Roswell, NM. He received the greatest honor of being the best father and grandpa by his loving family. Chris was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with family. He also enjoyed cruising and listening to oldies, sitting on the porch watching his grandkids play, and going on bike rides listening to his iPod.
Those left to cherish memories of Chris are his spouse, Juanita Fuentes; daughters: Vanessa Herrera (Pancho Herrera) and Sara Hampton (Josh Hampton); grandchildren: Alaina Carrillo, Roman Herrera, Aiden Vialpando, Adamaris Herrera, Everli Hampton, Leenah Hampton, and Amelia Hampton; father, Joe Fuentes; siblings: Clara Fuentes, Delphina Nuanes, Miranda Garcia(Fuentes), Norma Fuentes, Nicky Fuentes and Willie Fuentes; nieces and nephews: Andrea Portillo, Freddy Fuentes Jr., Daniel Paul Fuentes, Ryan Nuanes, Audie Nuanes, and Andrew Aguilar; along with numerous others as well as a large extended family; also to include, Costa Garcia who held a very special place in his heart.
Chris is proceeded in death by his mother, Gloria Fuentes; brother, Freddy Fuentes; brother-in-law, Luis Coronado; nephew, Carlos Coronado; favorite cousin, Johnny Fuentes; and close friend, David Martinez.
Our dad will be dearly missed by family and friends. His family was his pride and joy and his greatest role in his life was being a pawpaw to his babies. He showed unconditional love to his family and always made sure to say I Love You more than twice, to be careful, and to make sure the doors were locked. He was always a person you could count on and didn't hesitate to help anyone in need.
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Glen Shelton and the staff at Gentiva for the care they showed to our dad.
At the request of Chris and his family all services will be held privately.
Our lives go on without you
but nothing is the same
we have to hide our heartache
when someone speaks your name
sad are the hearts that love you
silent are the tears that fall
living without you is the
hardest part of all
You did so many things for us
Your heart was so kind and true
And when we needed someone
We could always count on you
The special years will not return
When we are all together
But with the love in our hearts
You walk with us forever
