Chris is survived by his devoted wife Cynthia "Cindy" Girtman, who he married on June 15, 1984. They have been blessed with six children: Jeremy (Stephanie) Walker, Becky Eaton, Sarah (Jeremy) Kemp, Jessica (Steve) Scheier, Josh (Morgan) Girtman and Daniel Girtman. Chris adored his grandchildren Cierra, Brendon, Dillon, Chase, Russ, Lauren, Abby, Hannah, Makinzi, Dhyllan, Maddie, Morgan, Kloey, Connor, and Tristan as well as his great-grandchildren Ryann, Gracie, and Brant.
He is also survived by his brother Dale Girtman, sisters Beverly Girtman and Carolyn Prarie, and several nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and his beloved sister Gwen Girtman.
In May 2023, Chris retired from Shannon Door Co. Chris would be known by his colleagues for his tireless energy and dedication to his work.
Chris was an excellent carpenter. His passions included: spending time with and helping his family, being around his grandchildren, riding his bike, weightlifting, walking, listening to country and rock music, watching Disney movies, and working on projects. Chris will especially be remembered as being selfless and devoted to his family.
Chris was a simple man, and his family wants to honor him with a simple Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 7, 2024. This will be held at Cicero Community Park from 2:00-5:00 PM. If attending, please feel free to wear your best jeans and Converse shoes as those were Chris' favorite things to wear.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cremation Society of Indiana.
