Christopher Lee “Chris” Kline, born on September 19, 1970, in Tulsa, OK, passed away on September 4, 2025, at home in the arms of his mother, Mary Housel, and his partner of 20 years, Shari Butler, after a long battle with alcoholism. The disease knows no boundaries.
Chris was a unique, kind, gentle, giving, and beautiful soul. Everyone he met throughout his journey of life became a friend. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by many.
He attended Cascia Hall and Tulsa Memorial High School before graduating from the University of Oklahoma. Chris spent most of his professional career with MidFirst Bank, where he served as a Senior Loan Officer.
Playing golf and watching sports were two of Chris’s greatest passions. He grew up playing junior golf and, up until a few years ago, could be found on the golf course nearly every weekend. He was an avid sports fan and spent much of his time watching golf, football, and basketball.
Chris is survived by his partner, Shari Butler; his mother, Mary Housel; his brothers Ashton and Heath Housel, along with Heath's wife Amy, and their children Penny and Baker.
A memorial service to celebrate Chris’s life will be held on his 55th birthday, September 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Smith & Kernke (May Ave. location).
