Chris Donald Moat, 62, returned to his loving Heavenly Father and to the arms of his beloved Mother and Father on February 28, 2024. He was the husband of Janet Lynn Moat. They shared 41 years of marriage together.

Chris was born in Roosevelt, Utah to Don and Linda Moat. He was the sixth of seven children. He had one older brother, four older sisters, and one younger sister. He grew up as a young boy in Duchesne, Utah loving the mountains, trapping, hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting.

They were blessed with four children, Leah, Ryan, Chris Ammon, and Colton. He shared his love of the mountains and outdoors with his family. They had many adventures of camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing. He taught them to love this earth.

Chris graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He also earned a Master of Electrical Engineering and a Master of Computer Science. He worked for the Department of Defense at Hill Air Force Base for 37 years. He loved his job and was devoted to his country.

Chris had a deep faith in his Heavenly Father and was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many different capacities in the church. He loved teaching gospel doctrine, primary, and served as bishop in the Summerfield Ward with all his might, mind, and strength. His life was the gospel, his wife, children, grandchildren, and sweet dog, Kona.

He is survived by his wife Janet Lynn Moat; daughter, Leah Halley; sons Ryan (Kristen) Moat, Chris Ammon (Sierra) Moat, Colton (Janica) Moat; and twelve grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Donald and Linda Lee Moat, and sister, Charise.
