Chris Rebstock, Jr., of New Madrid, Mo., passed away on September 13, 2025, in Matthews, Mo., at the age of 82. Born on September 9, 1943, in New Madrid, he was the son of Christopher Rebstock and Thelma Bailey Rebstock. He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Rebstock; two sons, Michael Rex (Melissa) and Matthew Ryan; two grandchildren, Agnes Virginia Rebstock and Grover Douglas Rebstock; and two siblings, Helen Rebstock Beaher and Paul Stanley Rebstock (Pat). He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Loretta Ruth Rebstock, Joe Dick Rebstock and William J. Rebstock.

Chris was a 1962 graduate of New Madrid High School and a 1967 graduate of College of the School of the Ozarks. He married Linda Kay Gibbs, of Springdale, Ark., on July 2, 1968; they met in college. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served three years, including 18 months in Okinawa, and a member of American Legion Post 595. Chris worked at Noranda Aluminum in New Madrid for 34 years in the quality assurance lab.

He enjoyed many sports, including basketball and golf. Chris expressed many times over the years the lifetime love and connection that he felt for the Mississippi River.

A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Madrid Historical Museum, 1 South Main Street, New Madrid, MO 63869, or the charity of your choice.
