Chris Skorka

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Chris Skorka, a man whose loving and adventurous spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. Born on June 10, 1962, in Tarnow, Poland, Chris's journey in life took him on many adventures before he found his final resting place in Romeoville, Illinois, where he passed away on November 23, 2025.
Chris was a devoted husband to his wife of 40 years, Irene Skorka, and a pillar of strength and guidance to his children, Daniel Skorka and Aneta Linko. His joy was multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren Emma, Dylan, and Carson Linko. Chris's sister, Danuta Szponder, mother-in-law, Janina Kurtyka, along with his nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in law will remember him fondly for his generous heart and unwavering support.
Embracing his Catholic faith, Chris lived a life exemplified by love, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to his beliefs. He found peace in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing moments spent in the great outdoors. Chris's passion for hunting and fishing was only rivaled by his love of cooking, a talent he joyfully shared with family and friends. His culinary creations were the centerpiece of many memorable gatherings, leaving a legacy of recipes and shared laughter.
An avid traveler, Chris's adventurous spirit led him to explore the world, imparting a sense of wonder and curiosity in all his endeavors. His stories will continue to live on, kindling the spirit of discovery in future generations.
He will be remembered as a man who embraced life fully, with a faith-filled heart that guided his every step.
