Anthony Placzkiewicz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium - Justice on Nov. 25, 2025.
We come to you with the news of the passing of Anthony J. Placzkiewicz, known affectionately by friends and family as Tony. Born on March 30, 1947, in the city of Chicago, Illinois, Tony's journey through life has been one of warmth, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He departed from this world on November 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of joy and cherished memories.
Tony was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him, a man who believed in the power of kindness and the strength of family ties. He was a beloved brother to James Placzkiewicz, a fun-loving uncle to Daniel, Amanda, and Brandice, and a cherished great-uncle to Anastacia, Angelica, Alexandria, Tristyn, and Aidan. Tony leaves behind several extended family members and many great friends. His absence will impact our hearts, but he will live in our memories for years to come.
Tony was a world traveler and shared many stories of his adventures over the years. He enjoyed playing war games, casino games, and of course, classic Monopoly with his family. Throughout his life, Tony exuded a spirit of generosity and compassion. His infectious laughter and jovial demeanor were a constant source of comfort and happiness to those around him. As a man who valued the simple pleasures in life, Tony's presence was a reminder to all to cherish the moments that bring us joy.

Hey Tim, Like you, Tony was just a great guy and fun to be around with his super sense of humor. He could always find the humor and make you laugh at times to keep you from losing it in front of a customer. I remember losing so much weight while he was in love with APRIL. I loved his VW bug with the one headlight that pointed upward after a small fender bender that he didn't bother to have fixed. Perhaps he was the king of shift trades. If you needed a day off he would gladly work for you. I'm glad I got to talk to him on the phone before he passed. One thing for sure, I know he earned and got his wings and I'm sure he is making the other angels laugh with his humor. Miss You Tony.

I have known Tony since 1971 when I joined NC airlines. We have shared so many experiences together it would be hard to pick one out. He was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and always fun to be with. I have so many fond memories of our time together that will not be forgotten.

Tony, we had so many good times together working the Ticket counter and gates in Chicago for North Central Airlines. Whenever we had to work with oversold passengers at the gate, they never seemed to get mad while you were working with them. It had to be your smile.
