Christ Melland Obituary
He was born October 31, 1931, in Ashland, WI, the son of Christian and Anna Wigen Melland. Chris was a 1951 graduate of Drummond High School and a 1961 graduate of Northland College. He was a proud veteran serving his country in the U.S. Army in the 187th Airborne as a Paratrooper during the Korean Conflict. On February 25, 1956, he was united in marriage to Dorothe Keily in Drummond. Chris taught 5th and 6th grade at Vesper Elementary, Glidden and Glenwood City schools.
Chris is survived by his son, Mike (Ellen) Melland; and two granddaughters, Amanda and Jessica Melland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothe, on March 3, 2018; and six brothers and sisters.
Private family services with inurnment will be held at Northern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. I am so sorry to hear of Chris´ passing. He was always kind and he had such a positive attitude. What a wonderful human being. Our condolences to the family.
