Barbara Lucille Melland

Barbara Lucille Melland passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, with her family by her side, at the age of 87. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Barbara was known for her strength, compassion, and gentle humor, which touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Jerry; her four daughters, Cheri (Gene) Anderson, Kathy (Bill) Holderman, Sue (Paul) Lemmon, and Vicki (Bob) Hanson; her eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Barbara was born in Watsonville, California, in 1938. After moving to Oregon, she met Jerry, and the two married on August 17, 1957, building a full and happy life together in Philomath, Oregon.

Once her children were in school, Barbara began working for the Corvallis School District, where she served as a head baker for many years. Her dedication and warm spirit left a lasting mark on the school community.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to Evergreen Hospice.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
