Mrs. Christa Gerda Allen, 89, of
Beech Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2026, in the comfort of her home. Born in Berlin, Germany, on October 31, 1936, Christa eventually came to the United States, where she found a place to call home and spent many cherished years surrounded by family, friends, and the people she loved.
Christa was a woman who found joy in the simple things in life. She had a playful spirit, a wonderful sense of humor, and a personality that made her easy to love. She enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles, game shows, and cheering on her beloved Atlanta Braves. She could often be found keeping up with the latest game, working on a crossword puzzle, or hoping for that winning bingo number. These simple pleasures brought her happiness, and those who knew her will always smile when they think of her enjoying them.
Christa worked for Carroll Fabrics and was a longtime member of Parksville Baptist Church. Her faith was an important part of her life and remained a source of comfort and strength throughout her many years.
She was also blessed with friendships that lasted a lifetime. Ann Parker, her dear friend of 52 years, was truly like a sister to her. Herma Schmidt was another cherished friend who held a special place in Christa's heart. The friendships Christa formed throughout her life were a reflection of the warmth, kindness, and love she shared so freely with others.
Above all else, Christa treasured her family. Family was at the heart of her life, and the memories she made with them will be cherished for generations to come. She is survived by her children, Leon Allen and Cynthia Anderson; her grandchildren, Wayne Stewart (Heather), Austin Day, and Angela Carson; her great-grandchildren, Natalie Bafford (Aaron), Tyler Stewart, Mackenzie Stewart (Blake), Jacob McRae (Lili), and Gracelyn Stewart; and her great-great-grandchildren, Wrenlee Golden, Ella McRae, and Presley Golden.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Lindbergh Allen; her granddaughter, Natalie Day; and her son-in-law, Michael Anderson.
After 89 years of life, Christa leaves behind more than a family tree-she leaves behind stories, laughter, friendships, traditions, and memories that will continue to be shared by those who loved her. Her presence will be deeply missed, especially in the little everyday moments when her family thinks of her and wishes she were still here to share them.
Her life was full, her heart was loved, and her memory will live on through the family and friends who were blessed to know her.
"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants." - Psalm 116:15
