Christa Jo Hendricks, age 56, of Havre De Grace, MD, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, after courageously battling ALS.
Christa was born in Waynesburg, PA on April 8, 1969. She was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother "Gigi", daughter, sister, and proud Auntie. Christa is survived by her husband of 34 years, Darin Hendricks; two sons, Colby (Jessica) and Logan (Abby); three grandchildren, Brayden, Grayson, and Declan; parents, Joseph and Karen Main; siblings, Tracy Quackenbush (Thomas), Amy Lee (Dion), Joseph Main (Tracy), and Patrick "Benji" Main (Heather); and proud Auntie to her beloved nieces and nephews who adored her dearly. She was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Morgan Danielle.
Christa's profound empathy and compassionate heart was unmatched as she dedicated endless hours volunteering and assisting cancer patients at the Upper Chesapeake Oncology Center. She had a remarkable gift for offering comfort, hope, and kindness to individuals and families during their most difficult moments.
She was most passionate about family, food, travel, and health. Her most precious time was spent with family, especially during the holidays, with Christmas bringing her the most joy. She was most proud of her amazing culinary skills, always preparing delicious new recipes, often referred to as a "foodie." She was very blessed to travel often with her husband, sister, and brother-in-law, mostly enjoying the ocean, sun, and sand. She was an avid runner, always making health her top priority. She will especially be remembered as a social butterfly, having the ability to make friends in any given situation. Her sense of wisdom, wit, kindred spirit, and beautiful soul will forever live in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, where she will be reunited with her beloved Morgan Danielle.
