Christian Lane Edwards, 16, of Hubert, formally of Wilson, passed away Tuesday after a two-and-a-half-year courageous battle with Ewing Sarcoma, surrounded by his family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on February 5th, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, followed by interment in Oak Dale Cemetery, Spring Hope. Revs. Gary Walling and Rachel Price will officiate.
He is survived by his parents, James O. Edwards, Jr. and wife, Jeri Lynn Edwards; sister, Sydney Jade Edwards, of the home; grandparents, Stuart Lane (Butch) and Lisa Stutts Tedder of Wilson; Charles and Ann Oliver of Calabash; great-grandmother, Marie B. Stutts of Jacksonville; great aunt, Jakie (Richard) Glick of Raleigh; aunts, Jamie Tyndall (John) of Jacksonville, and Angel Clark (Nick) of Macclesfield; uncles, Shane Israel of Roanoke Rapids, and, Cam Israel (Angi) of Wilmington; cousins, Ayden Lane and Bentley Glenn Tyndall, Mason and Van Israel, Colton Andrews, Trenton Mitchell, and Kylee Lucas.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James O. (Joe) Edwards, Sr.; great grandparents, Glenn E. Stutts, Alene Radford, Ray and Lynette Radford, Ray and Jeanette Jones, and cousin, Ava Marie Tyndall.
Christian was born with the biggest smile and brought so much joy to anyone who met him. He was a proud big brother, loved his family and extended family, a true friend, cat whisperer, warrior, gamer, everyone’s sunshine, gentle, caring, compassionate and he loved to make people smile.
Throughout his journey Christian had so many earth angels that provided many meals, gas cards, donations, fundraisers, get well cards, love and prayers. He too had a compassionate and generous soul and would rather have memorials in lieu of flowers sent to:
