Barbara Ann Lemmons Davis

Barbara Ann Lemmons Davis, 89 of Sims, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be from 12:30-1:45pm on Thursday, November 20th at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Pkwy, Wilson. Funeral services will begin at 2pm in the chapel, to be officiated by Pastor Walt Tyndall. Entombment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made to Milbournie Free Will Baptist Church, 5106 Raleigh Road Pkwy West, Wilson, NC 27896.

Barbara was born and raised in Wilson County. She attended Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church and served the Lord all of her life. She held many positions in ministry, choir, and leadership at Shiloh. She attended Milbournie Free Will Baptist Church the last few years of her life.

Her professional years were spent as Payroll Supervisor at Tobacco Processors, where she retired after twenty-five years.

Barbara was dedicated to her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

To her family, she was lovingly known as “Mamommie”; a name cherished by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with them – sharing stories, offering gentle guidance, and celebrating each milestone in their lives.

“Though we no longer see you with our eyes or touch you with our hands, we will feel you in our hearts forever.”

She is survived by her husband of seventy-one years, Bobby Ray Davis; sons, Kenneth Ray Davis (Christie), and Ronald Keith Davis, (Emily); grandchildren: Dr. Meredith Davis Bowen, (Michael), Mindi Rae Davis, Lauren Davis Scarboro (Dr. Stephen Chad Scarboro), Julie Ann Davis, Natali Jo Davis, Millicent Davis Wakeley (Joshua David Wakeley), and Dr. Michael Christopher Mitkos (Hannah Kolcz); great-grandchildren: Laura Ann Bowen, Maxwell Davis Bowen, Davis Chad Scarboro, Kate Loucille Scarboro, Adalynn Jean Wakeley, and Noah Joshua Wakeley; and brother, Cecil Lemmons (Vickie).

Preceding her in death are her parents, Garland and Mamie Lemmons; brother, Garland Lee Lemmons; sister, Florence Webb; brothers-in-law, Frank M. Webb and Harold D. Davis; sisters-in-law, Ann M. Lemmons and Jean B. Lemmons.
