Christian "Chris" Allan Wells, 44, passed away on November 14, 2022. Services will be Tuesday, November 22nd beginning with visitation at 11 a.m. and funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. at St. Stephen Baptist Church, 1018 S. 15th Street. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery.
Chris was born to Charles Bendermon and Gina Andria (Wells) McDaniel on February 14, 1978 in Louisville, KY. He received Christ and was baptized at St. Stephens Baptist Church, and was part of the Rights of Passage Program. He attended Jefferson County Public Schools.
Chris as he was affectionately known, was a loving son, brother, father, and friend. He was an avid chess player and spoke of drawing men to Christ through the game. He was also a comedian at heart, the memories and the laughter will continue to place smiles on the faces of his family and friends for years to come. As a youngster, he enjoyed being with his Uncle Jay and Cousin Paul, listening to them creating rap songs and dancing. Chris was a Mama's boy through and through, and he played no games when it came to her or his little sister, Eugena, his protection and shielding, let them know that he loved and cherished them dearly.
Chris loved his children; he was proud to be called "Daddy" and strived daily to be the hero in each of their lives. No matter the trials, the bumps and bruises, he endured in this life. Chris was a warrior and knew with God on his side he had the Victory. In the famous words of Chris "Wait on it."
Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clark & Gladys Bendermon. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Gina (Wells) McDaniel, father, Charles Bendermon, maternal grandmother, Roberta E. Curry, two daughters, Chris'tiana Wells, Lyric Hampton, and one son, Sy'Aire Banks, a daughter in love, Makai Saint Germaine; three sisters, Eugena Wells Davis, Conswella Watson, Charley Bendermon, three brothers, Charles Bendermon, Jr., Jason Drogich, Jeremy Drogich; his dear friends Nicole Saint Germaine, Wilneathia Banks, Aleisha Hampton and Wendy Gee and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended family, and friends.
