Christina Mayfield, age 32, of
Columbia, Missouri passed away on February 2, 2024. She was born on July 31, 1991 in
Columbia, Missouri; a daughter of Brenda Proctor and Ronald "Chris" Vaughan. She was united in marriage to Matthew Mayfield in March of 2016.
She attended Hickman High School in
Columbia, Missouri and continued her education at John Wood Community College where she completed an associates degree in medical technology. Christina worked as a Certified Medical Technician for the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics for over 2 years. During her time at the University of Missouri she floated to many different clinics and impacted the lives of numerous people. Recently, she began working as a CMT for Boone Medical Group.
She loved being outdoors, where she enjoyed fishing, camping and riding motorcycles. She also loved spending time at her Meme and Papa's house for weenie roasts. She was the best "mama bear" and loved her children more than anything in the world.
Christina was known and loved for her kindness and generosity toward all people and animals. She was the light in so many lives, even 5 minutes with her could brighten any day. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Christina is survived by husband, Matt Mayfield of
Columbia, Missouri; children, Isabella, age 12 and Jaxson, age 6, both of
Columbia, Missouri; mother, Brenda Proctor of
Hallsville, Missouri; father, Ronald "Chris" (Becky) Vaughan of
Hallsville, Missouri; brothers, Brandon (Breanna) Vaughan, Joe Knox and Andrew Dodd; sisters, Morgan (James) Dixon, Kaitlyn Fisher and Shannen Fisher; maternal grandparents, Meme and Papa (Lou and Estill) Proctor; paternal grandparents, Granny and Pa (Gene and Sue) Vaughan; uncle, Thomas (Corri) Proctor; mother-in-law, Teresa (Donnie Barnes) Mixer; brothers-in-law, Chris (Michael) Mayfield, Kaleb (Payton) Reinold and Noah Reinold; sister-in-law, Macenzie (Andrea) Mayfield; as well as many more aunts, uncles and cousins. Christina was preceded by Brenda's significant other, Mike Knox.
A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Columbia Knights of Columbus Hall, 2525 N. Stadium Blvd,
Columbia, MO 65202.
