Christina B. Orban

Christina Orban Obituary Christina (Williams) B. Orban 93 years young of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed on Christmas Day at Bayshore Community Hospital surrounded by her family. Christina, a devout communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Union Beach, was a member of both the church choir and Altar Rosary Society. She and her husband Bob helped to start the soccer programs at Christian Brothers Academy and Hazlet Youth Soccer Association.
Born in Harrison, New Jersey, Christina was a talented seamstress, who loved to crochet. Her gorgeous baby afghans are treasured gifts to so many babies of many generations. She enjoyed traveling, dining out and going on excursions with her friends.
The Orbans were married in 1952 and raised two sons, in Elizabethtown, PA, and Pitman, NJ, before settling in Hazlet in 1968. Once her boys were out of school, she worked as a receptionist for Dr Freidman in Holmdel, then as the receptionist for Hazlet Town Hall on Middle Road. When she retired from Hazlet Township, she worked part time at Meridian at Bayshore in Holmdel for many years in both the gift shop and as a receptionist where she cultivated friendships, and left lasting impressions on so many. She took great pride and pleasure in telling stories of her sons, husband, and extended family members in her humorous anecdotal style.
Christina is predeceased by her husband Robert C. Orban, Sr, and son, Stephen P. Orban, a sister Geraldine (Gerry) Pappas of Florida., Christina leaves behind her son, Robert C. (Bob) Orban, Jr. of Hazlet, grandson, Michael J. Orban of Parlin, and great-grandson, Jaxson P. Orban of Freehold. Daughters-in-law, Cynthia Fair of Highlands, and Gigi Soliman of Hazlet. Grandchildren, George Galuppo, Kathleen Galuppo and great grandchildren Rachael Galuppo, Greyson Fair, Charlotte and Penelope Saporito. Devoted nieces, Denise Waher of Florida, and Christina Tew, Washington State and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is Sunday, December 29th from 1 to 4:00 p.m. Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, December 30th at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Union Beach. Cremation is private.
