Christine Joann Cassman

Christine J. Cassman, age 85 of Bloomington passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025 after a long illness.

Preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Wilma; sister, Alice Frederick; infant sister, Debra; brother, Theodore (Teddy), and beloved granddaughter, Kristi Ceronsky. Survived by daughter, Debi (Steeves-Cassman) Ceronsky; son, Thomas (Laurie) Steeves; grandchildren, Hannah (Joshua) Webster, Hilliary (Kyle) Beneventi, Jenny Ceronsky, and Caleb (Madison) Steeves; great-grandchildren, Carlyle, Lawson, Harland and Callum, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Christine (Chris) was born July 23, 1940 in Minneapolis to Wilma (Geyer) and Clifford Hursh. She graduated from Roosevelt Senior High School in 1958. Chris was featured in The Minneapolis Star and Tribune as the first female convenience store cashier, working at Super America. It was there she met Mike Cassman and the two married on 1969. Chris completed her nursing degree, working at Hennepin County Medical Center for 30 years, then another 10 years at a rehabilitation center before officially retiring in 2010. Chris loved to travel-her favorite destinations were Las Vegas and Cruising the Caribbean.

A special thank you to the staff at Suite Living Senior Care in Lakeville where Chris resided for the last 20 months.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 19, 2025 from 3-6pm at White Funeral Home, 14560 Pennock Avenue, Apple Valley, MN 55124, internment at a later date.
