Christine Elizabeth Davis Aged 78 of Oakmont, died peacefully on March 25, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Christine was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Johnson of McKeesport. She is preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Wendy Lee, and two siblings, Richard Johnson of Greensburg and Mary Conaway of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Patross; her three children, Amy (Brad) Wilks, Mindy LaBelle, and Brandon (Monica) Davis; three stepchildren, Lindsay Patross, Whitney Patross, and Courtney (Christopher) Braden; nine grandchildren, Kelan Wilks, Tarin Wilks, Julian Wilks, Ezra Davis, Elliot Davis, Ruby LaBelle, Bridget Braden, Eloise Braden, and Peter Braden; five siblings, Albert (Bonnie) Johnson, Joann (Frank) Guzman, Norma Johnson (Dave Harrison), Kenneth (Marion) Johnson, and Dennis Johnson; a sister-in-law, Maryann Moore; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, caregivers, and friends. Christine was a professional archaeologist and entrepreneur who started her own cultural resource management company (archaeological and historical consulting) in 1986 from the basement of her home that grew into a flourishing family business that continues on. Her love of archaeology began when she discovered the historic archaeological remains of Ramsey's Tavern on family property in Ligonier. From there, she volunteered countless hours at the Section of Anthropology and Archaeology at Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh while earning undergraduate and graduate degrees in Anthropology/Archaeology at the University of Pittsburgh. She became a highly respected businesswoman and pioneer in an industry that was just starting to find its way. Through her countless excavations of Native American villages, hamlets, and mounds, frontier forts, log homes, Civil War Era residences and stores, industrial steel mills, and so many more she was able to further our understanding of the past and make important contributions to the knowledge of precontact and historic archaeology and history. On a personal level, Christine was an avid researcher, writer, gardener, reader, and traveler. She also loved music, art, and theater but more important to her than anything else, and the source of her greatest pride, were her grandchildren. She made sure to be at every major life event and rarely missed a performance, dance, or game, always arriving early, of course. Her grandchildren remember sharing one-on-one "Grandma Days" when she would take them wherever they wanted to go, her love of the Allegheny River, her colorful clothes and jewelry, and the many family trips she lovingly planned to Disney and various beaches. All are welcome to join her family for a Celebration of Life on May 13, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm at the office of Christine Davis Consultants, Inc., 560 Penn Street, Verona, PA 15147.
