Mrs. Christine “Dean” Luke, age 79, of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Ga. following an extended illness.
Mrs. Luke was born on December 02, 1946, in Berrien County to the late Willis, Jr. and MavaDell Carmichael Horton. She had made her home in Willacoochee for many years and had worked as a cashier for Dollar General. She attended Willacoochee First Baptist Church. Mrs. Luke enjoyed planting flowers and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Mrs. Luke was preceded in death by her brother, Olen Horton, and sister, Patricia Lynn Horton Head.
Survivors include:
Husband: Curtis Luke of Willacoochee, Ga.
2 Daughters: Lisa Bailey and husband Stacy of Nashville, Ga.
Connie Hudson and husband Wayne of Ocilla, Ga.
4 Brothers: Jessie Horton of Valdosta, Ga.
Billy Horton and wife Barbara of Adel, Ga.
Darrell Horton and wife Dean of Willacoochee, Ga.
Jerry Neal Horton and wife Debbie of St. Augustine, Fl.
Sister: Christell Williams of Douglas, Ga.
5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Graveside services for Mrs. Luke were held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Lax Cemetery with Rev. Joe Taft officiating. Special music included “Beat You There” and “Go Rest High on That Mountain” presented by cd. The interment followed in Lax Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers included: Kevin Horton, Josh Horton, Aaron Berefield, Adam Berefield, Marcus Williams, and Drew Carmichael.
Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
