Christine Dean, 90, of Bedford, NH, died December 14, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Born in Hohengüßbach, Germany, on Christmas Day 1934, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Stöhr) Ziegelhofer. She was a student at Teaneck High School. Later she worked at Gimbel’s and at F.L. Smidth & Co. as an accountant. Christine enjoyed social time with her friends, particularly church luncheons and weekly mah-jongg games.
Devoted to her Catholic faith, she served as Eucharistic minister alongside her husband for nearly 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Eugene R. Dean. She is survived by her children, Raymond Dean and wife Patricia of Brandon, VT, and their children, Christina and Carolyn, and great-grandchild, Alanna; Karen Iler and husband Kevin of Paramus, NJ, and their children, Daniel, Robert, and Jennifer; Janine Stuart and husband James of Mahwah, NJ, and their children, Eric and Christopher, and great-grandchildren, Serena and Patrick; Kenneth Dean and wife Deanna of Bedford, and their son, Edward; her sisters Margaret Simon of Anaheim, CA, and Susanne Koelsch of Hillsdale, NJ; and brothers Henry Ziegelhofer of Wanaque, NJ, and Walter Ziegelhofer of Hackensack, NJ. She was predeceased by her brother John Ziegelhofer.
There are no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 18th at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, South Main Street, Manchester. Burial will follow in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
Donations may be made in her memory to support the American Cancer Society or Catholic Charities.
