Christine Ford Obituary
Reflection of Life
Christine R. Ford was born on July 22, 1954, to Roscoe Ross and Bertha Mae Hill Ross in Metcalf, Georgia. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and first joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Albert Sanders. She later became a devoted member of First Unity Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served under the pastorate of Rev. Charlie Ross.
Christine served her church with dedication and love in many capacities, including Sunday School Teacher, Deaconess, Mission Society Member, Kitchen Committee Chair and Choir Member. Her commitment to ministry and service reflected her deep faith and love for her church family.
She received her primary education at Magnolia School and graduated from Central High School in 1972. Christine went on to earn a degree in Business Administration from Southern Regional Technical College (formally Thomas Technical School).
Christine was known for her joy in the kitchen. Baking cakes and cooking brought her great happiness, and her family fondly remembers her red velvet cake as her specialty. She was also a published author, having written and copyrighted an autobiography titled, “My Life Before Cancer and After” for her immediate family.
She was married to the late Edgar H. Ford Sr for 52 years. She leaves to cherish her legacy to her children: Edgar Jr. (Felicia), Thomasville, GA; Ricky (Robbyia), High Springs, FL; Roderick (ShaVonne), Norris (Mimi) and Dr. Betté Ford, all of Atlanta, GA. Grandchildren are Jordan, Jasmine, DeVonté, Emmanuel, Chasditiy, Lexi, Imani, and Bubby. Great-grandchildren include Ruvi, Marl, Rome, Caleb, Dylan, Ayden, and Ryland. Brothers: Rev Charlie Ross (Janice) and Jessie Ross. Sisters: Mable Johnson and Helen Reynolds. A special nephew Jassiah Williams; sister-in-law Clara Ross; Caregivers, Freddie Mae Joiner and Ida Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Alberta Coleman, James Ross, and Ralph Ross.
