Marjorie Childs Mullins, of Thomasville, GA; transitioned peacefully in her sleep on November 4,2025, at her home. She was 95 years of age. Marjorie was born in Thomas County, GA on June 20, 1930 to the late Henry and Ida Childs. Marjorie was the youngest of 12 children born to this union. Marjorie received her formative education in Patten, GA. and later e in holy matrimony to Eugene Mullins Sr. To this union 6 children were born. She was a member of New Olive Grove MB Church for over 60 years, where she served faithfully until her health began to fail. She will be remembered for her personality, grace and of course her "sassiness." She dedicated her life to her family; always being there with a listening ear and a loving embrace, as everything she did was for them. Marjorie was a magnetic force that people gravitated towards and she accepted and loved them all. In June, family and friends came from near and far to partake in her 95th birthday and to love on her and "give her flowers NOW!" If you ever had the pleasure of being around her, you were guaranteed to laugh and hear "Wisdom."
Marjorie was preceded in death by 4 of her children (Judy Smith, Christine Harris, Eugene Mullins Jr, and Henry Mullins). 4 brothers (AJ, Willie (Daddy Will) Jessie, John and 7 sisters (Allie, Mary, Lucille, Alice, Mamie, Evelina, and Reva). Yes, her greatest joy was her children, but her crowning glory were her grandchildren, who will forever cherish memories of her love and compassion for what she called the five "F" words: Family, Friends, Fellowship, Food and Fun. Her 95 years of life is evidence that she experienced an abundance of each. She truly embodied the adage of a life well lived.
We know that "when someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure" Marjorie is survived by her devoted daughter Carolyn Mullins Scott (Ezekial) and a loving son Willie James Mullins (Jaunita) 10 grandchildren: Donnell Moore, Victoria Cotton, Joseph (Sharon) Moore all of Lakeland, FL. Shuveta (Edward) Saddler of Columbia, SC.; Raytorrie (Telia) Newkirk, Bridgette (Bryan) Williams, Laquan Thomas, Masika Bradshaw, Lajulia Smith, Angel Clark, all of Thomasville, GA along with a host of great grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who will carry her memory for she was truly loved and lived a life that touched Many.
