Marilyn Janice Smith, age 91, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at her home in Thomasville, GA. She was born on February 19, 1934, to loving parents, LeRoy Wort and Genavine Wort, in Hicksville, OH. Marilyn graduated from Berkley High School as well as Port Orchard Community College.
A vibrant member of her community, Marilyn held the title of Queen Mother in the Red Hat Society of Pinellas Park, Florida. She relished time spent with her grandchildren, bringing joy and laughter to their lives.
Marilyn is survived by her children: Dale Howard Smith (Patricia) of Michigan, Steven Scott Smith (Wanda) of Washington State, Glenn Karl Smith of Thomas County, and Cynthia Passmore (Roy) of Thomasville. Her legacy also includes her beloved grandchildren: Sonjia Barker, Adam Kube, Genevieve Taylor, Dale Smith Jr., Jessica McClure, Crystal Smith, Taylor Smith, and Lawton Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Deanna Marie Bahler, and siblings Richard Wort, Lynda Reese, Lee Wort, and Larry Wort.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday November 19, 2025 in the Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Marilyn will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
