Christine Garcia-Placencio, 76 of Las Cruces, New Mexico, formerly of Bayard, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Las Cruces, New Mexico, October 20, 2025.

She was born in Santa Rita New Mexico on July 10, 1949 to Arturo and Elma Garcia.

She was the oldest of seven children. She worked at Cobre Consolidated Schools for fifteen years. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arturo and Elma Garcia; two brothers, Art and Ben Garcia; a niece, Stormy Yniguez; her husband, Casper Placencio; and her daughter in law, Liz J. Placencio.

She is survived by her six children, Dorothy Cagle (Mattie) of Portland Oregon, Patrick, Monica Irene and Daniel (Jessica) Placencio of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Sam Placencio (Allie) of New York, and Jacque Chavez of Deming, New Mexico. She is also survived by her brother Rick Garcia (Monica) of Bayard New Mexico, sisters Norma Ruiz and Margo Garcia-Bencomo (Benny) of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Barb Garcia-Graham (Scott) of Apache Junction, Arizona and fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Christine loved music and dancing to her favorite Illusion Band. In order to honor and celebrate her life, the family will welcome everyone to join them Monday, October 27th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1301 N. Swan, Silver City, NM.
