It is with great sadness that the family of Christine Sadler Hudgins, 91, of Cobbs Creek, Virginia, announces that she passed peacefully in the early morning on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at her home with family members close by her side.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Norice Sadler; husband, Fay S. Hudgins; grandson, Jared T. Hudgins; brother, Freeman Sadler; and sister, Thelma Wilds.
She is survived by her sons, Ricky F. Hudgins (Kathy) and H. Keith Hudgins (Chong); granddaughter, Tara H. Forrest (Robert); sister-in-law, Norma H. Thomas; and many nieces, great nieces, and great nephews.
Christine loved the beach at Nags Head and later, spending time at her condo in Myrtle Beach. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved VA Tech Football.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A service of remembrance will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, VA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to Noon at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Windsor Gardens Cemetery & Mausoleum, Dutton, VA.
The family would like to thank Riverside Hospice and her caregivers for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverside Hospice, 7358 Main Street, Gloucester, Virginia 23061 or Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, 94 Cricket Hill Road, Hudgins, Virginia 23076. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews is assisting the family.
