Affectionately known as Ms. Christine, you will always be a good memory of my growing up years in Goldsboro and at St. Mark, where you served as a faithful usher along with my dad, Charles Upchurch. You were one of the first women I knew who was a professional working single mother and grandmother. I was in awe. Your home was always a welcoming place, and you were a great cook! Chrissy was my high school classmate, and a spitting image of you. Condolences and prayers to your family.

Im lighting this candle in the honor of my being privileged to have met and experienced first hand the love and affection you had for your family. I met you in 1978 when Monique and I became classmates. You allowed me to enter your home as a guest with open arms.
