It is with great sadness but also with much gratitude for a live well lived, that the family of Christine Martin, announces her passing on August 28, 2025.
Chris was the daughter of the late Phyllis and Stephen Kielkoski and beloved wife of Maurice "Moe" Martin, who predeceased her on October 3, 2018, after forty-nine years of marriage.
Chris graduated summa cum laude from Classical High School in 1963 and was Valedictorian of her graduating class from Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists and Northeastern University. She spent her entire professional career working as a Dental Hygienist in private practice, where she took great pride in treating each and every patient as though they were a member of her own family.
Chris leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted sons: Stephen and his wife Ann and John and his wife Amy. She was "Bachi" to her greatest joys in life, Caidan, Rowan, Grace and Quinn.
She also leaves her cousin and soulmate, Dr. Joyce Thielen and a devoted and loving niece Jennifer Buck as well as a large and loving extended family. She always felt so blessed to share her entire adult life with four lifelong friends, Karen Mulligan, Judy Rosso, Karen Williams, and Jeanine Wilson.
In her retirement years, Chris "paid it forward" by volunteering at the two things that sustained her though life: her faith and D'Amour Cancer Center. She became a Eucharist Minister and gave communion to the elderly at Redstone Rehabilitation Center. She became a beacon of hope for the patients on the Infusion Floor at D'Amour Cancer Center.
Chris's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the doctors who treated her and battled multiple cancers since the age of forty-two: Dr. Francis Murray, her impeccable primary care physicians, and surgeons Dr. J. Richard Chabot (deceased), Dr. Michael Albert and Dr. Rose Ganim.
Chris's family will welcome family and friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 4 – 7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Michael's Parish, Maple Street, East Longmeadow. She will be laid to rest in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Chicopee.
