Gastonia Christine McIntyre, 76, passed away peacefully November 18 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House. Her over two year battle with diabetes, ostoperosis and pancreatic cancer finally came to an end. Several years Christine volunteered at Gaston Memorial Hospital in the medical records department and past member of Grand Spinners Square Dance Club where she loved to dance. In addition to her parents, Irene and Ralph Mendenhall, she was preceded in death by her son Michael and his teenaged son Michael Russell. Survivors include husband of 57 years, William (Bill), daughter, Kathryn Fanton of Orange, Va., son Mark McIntyre of West Carrollton, OH, sister, Joyce Seeger of Dayton, OH, brother Dean Mendenhall of Newbury Park, CA; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 21st at 3:00 PM in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors, Gastonia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Laura Auten will officiate. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made in Christine's name to Robin Johnson Hospice House, c/o Gaston Hospice, P. O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
