Funeral services celebrating the life of Christine Reeves Paul will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11:30 AM in the chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Bro. Richie Craig officiating. Interment will follow at the Longview Baptist Church Cemetery in Deville, Louisiana.
Christine Reeves Paul, age 96, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. She was born on September 22, 1929, in Cheneyville, Louisiana, to William Rufus and Sarah Jane Cain Reeves.
Christine was the cherished wife of Wordy Ray Paul, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful family, and Christine was a loving mother to their daughter, Sundra Mabou.
She was the proud grandmother of Scott Mabou and great-grandmother to Blaine Mabou and Kaylee Womack, who brought immense joy to her life. Christine was also a great-great-grandmother to Millie Parker Mabou and Kaiden Ray Womack. She held a special place in her heart for her extended family, including nieces, nephews, and her beloved sister-in-law, Juanita Paul.
Christine is predeceased by her husband, Wordy Ray Paul; her parents, William Rufus and Sarah Janet Cain Reeves; her siblings: Freemont Reeves, Vernon Reeves, Alva Jean Reeves, C.C. Reeves, Willis Reeves, Jesse Reeves, Kitty Sasser, Amelia Burnett, Mamie Burnette, and O'Delia Daniels; and her son-in-law, L.C. Mabou.
In her cherished 25 years of service at Weiss and Goldrings, Christine dedicated herself warmly, forming lifelong friendships and leaving a positive impact on those she worked with. Her passion extended beyond her work; she was an active member of Longview Baptist Church, where her faith was evident and served as the cornerstone of her life.
Known for her incredible warmth, kindness, and resilience, Christine was more than just a devoted wife and mother; she was the embodiment of love and family values. She instilled these values in everyone she encountered and celebrated every moment with laughter and joy.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Kory Deville, Danny Daniels, David Paul, Scott Mabou, Blaine Mabou, and Lane Womack. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Paul and Delane Burnette.
While we say goodbye to a remarkable woman, her spirit and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. We will carry her memory in our thoughts and lives forever.
The family would like to give special recognition to the staff members at Hilltop Nursing Home and Compassionate Care Hospice for their love and tender care during Christine's final days.
