Christobal Perez, age 85, passed away on April 30, 2025. He was born to Christobal & Irene Perez on May 1, 1939 in Kingsville, Texas. Chris was raised in
Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1959. He enlisted and served as a United States Marine from September 1957 to February 1965 as a Sharpshooter - Private First Class (PFC).
Chris married his wife of 63 years, Irma D. Perez, on June 2, 1962. He was employed by the Corpus Christi Caller Times for 20 years, then later working on the Rancho De Los Abogados Canales. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Chris enjoyed the simple life. He will always be remembered for his quiet nature and devotion to his family. Chris found joy in the simple pleasures, like vacationing with family and friends at the Frio River or firing up the pit for a good ole BBQ. A true Texan at heart, he loved hunting and cherished the peace and pride that came from working on Tony Canales' ranch, Rancho De Lo Abogados Canales.
One of Chris' greatest passions was his 1970 Buick, which he lovingly restored and proudly cruised that car wasn't just a vehicle – it was a symbol of his hard work, dedication and love for classic craftsmanship. Chris also enjoyed talking on the phone with his brother, Roddy, 4 or 5 times every day, along with other close friends – Rem, Pancho and Teo.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents Christobal and Irene Perez, sister Eduvina P. Martinez, and nephew Roel Elizondo.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Irma Del Llano Perez, daughters, Celena Barrera and Lorena Prieto (Ray Dominguez), his four grandsons, Peter Muniz, Mark Anthony Muniz, Orlando Beau Prieto (Alysa Ortiz Prieto), Jacob Christopher Prieto (Valerie Vela Prieto), granddaughter, Gina Marie Barrera, and great-grandchildren, Zayne Orlando & Ellie Mai Prieto; along with his favorite furry companions, poodles Tootsie and Bella.
