Christon Cheramie

Christon James Cheramie, 48, of Hattiesburg, passed away on July 31, 2025. He was born on June 28, 1977, in Louisiana.
Chris was a lifelong artist that mastered many mediums. As a young man, he studied anatomy and martial arts to strengthen his visual artistry. He had a deep abiding love for comic books and storytelling and spent many years working on projects for himself and others. As a singer and guitarist, Chris had a passion and presence that made a lasting impression on any lucky enough to see him perform. His imagination was boundless and his gifts were a source of joy and pride for all who knew him.
Chris was a loving father that supported his children's interests and dreams. He was a husband who shared a beautiful life with his high school sweetheart for over 25 years. He was an empathetic friend, uncle, brother, and son who will be missed for his humor, intelligence, and willingness to help others no matter the circumstance.
Chris is survived by his devoted wife, Kim; three children: Uriel, Elizabeth and Bethany; three siblings: Darby, Abbey, and Tarrah; and one parent: Donald.
A memorial celebrating his life will take place August 06, 2025 at his home in Hattiesburg, MS. In place of flowers and cards, donations can be made to foundations focused on addressing coastal erosion and Cajun language preservation to honor Christon's love for the natural beauty of his home state and vibrant culture.
