Christopher Todd Alexander was born July 9th, 1971 in Houston, Texas to Robert Alexander and Linda James. Always incredible patriotic, he joined the Air Force straight out of high school. While serving in Germany, his wife Teri gave birth to their first son Stefan and in Florida to their second son Austin. He married Michele in 2008 and they made a blended family, with his two boys and her son Jonathon.
Out of the Air Force, Chris continued serving his country as a Deputy Sheriff, Firefighter and as a Wildlands Fire Fighter. He had other jobs, and always served with excellence, but he was most proud of and focused on the job of being Dad to his three sons and husband to his wife. A close second to his love of family and friends, was his love of the Steelers. He was an enthusiastic fan and not afraid to share how many rings they had earned.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Alexander.
Survivors include his wife Michele Alexander, his children, Stefan Alexander, Austin Alexander, and Jonathon Burke; his mother Linda Stevermer; his brothers Robert and his wife Michelle, Troy and his wife Lisa; his sister Mary Doyle and her husband Kevin; his niece Taylor Keels and her husband Jon; his nephews Christopher Doyle, Hunter Doyle, and Connor Alexander; as well as a host of friends who consider themselves family.
Chris was larger than life. He lit up every room he walked into with his charisma and made friends wherever he went. And being friends with Chris was a very good idea. His loyalty to his friends was fierce and complete. He would drive massive distances to give you the last dollar in his pocket, sometimes quite literally. There was so much love in his heart for those who were struggling. He was constantly bringing people into his home and treating them like family. Every winter, when the first cold freeze would hit, he passed out coats, hats, and blankets to the homeless community. Chris was everyone's super hero; if someone was in trouble they called him and he made their problem his problem and then fixed it. But Chris's biggest priority was always his family. He helped establish and then became president of the JROTC program at Benbrook Middle High School so that his son would have an opportunity to be involved in the program. When it comes to his wife and boys, Chris would move mountains.
He will be sorely missed, but as we trust the Lord Jesus in this time, we are thankful that Chris is in no more pain and grateful for the time we got to spend with such a special and unique man, a legend in his own time.
