I am deeply saddened by this news. I was looking to see where Dr.Auty had moved his practice to, so that I could make an appointment for my daughter, not knowing he had passed. My whole family went to him because he was the kindest soul you would ever meet. I am heartbroken to know that my daughter won't get the chance to know such an amazing person! My heart goes out to all that knew and loved him! Such a great loss this is! We love you Dr.Auty!

Some years ago, I met Chris skiing through a mutual friend at Sunday River and saw him on the slopes occasionally. When my Massachusetts oral surgeon informed me after 4 long years of adult orthodontia that dental implants would not work for me, I thought of Chris and how competent and confident he seemed....well, certainly on the ski slopes....and decided to consult with him professionally. It took a bit of convincing my insurer that it really was necessary to travel from the Boston area to NH for treatment but so well worth it. After examining me Chris laughed and said yes a tight fit but of course it could be done. Right answer! I was the happy recipient of his easy, painless "punch" technique and nearly 15 years later those implants are still going strong.

I am very sorry to learn of his passing. He was a talented and caring medical professional and a pleasure to know.

I had the privilege of being part of the Great Bay Oral Surgery Team in the past. I was fortunate to have worked for Chris for 16 years. Chris was always so generous to my family and I. I feel blessed and very lucky to have known him. May eternal rest be yours, Chris. May God Bless and watch over Alex, Samantha and Jack and give them comfort and peace

I met Chris 3 years ago at Portsmouth Country Club - immediately I was taken by his sense of humor, passion for life and his generosity. We played many rounds of golf together and even on those days when golf is harsh he was always smiling and so positive. I´m surely going to miss our golf, conversation and his wisdom! See you on the other side friend! Too soon ....

Chris was a good friend and fellow professional. Our relationship started back in oral surgery residency days when I was a chief resident and he was one of my interns. As life would have it Chris and his partner eventually bought out my practice and he became my boss at the end of my career. He was always a person with a great love and respect for his Alex, his children and extended family, his patients, his fellow professionals and people in general. Betsy and I have many fond memories of our adventures together of the years. I know he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The classic BMW community lost a great friend. I was fortunate enough to have met Chris via the coupe car club and enjoyed many hours and days driving our and each other's cars, chasing parts and recounting how one of us found some unobtainable part. I will never forget our breakfasts at The Bean with "Drew" and Chris devouring a start of blueberry French toast covered with real maple syrup with gusto! He was outgoing, energetic and someone who enriched my life and those with whom he came in contact. He will be sorely missed.

Chris was a "top shelf" gentlemen. He had a big heart , very enthusiastic and fun to be around. He could have used some " bid whist" mentoring. He will be missed by many.

Alex,

We are so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful tribute to Chris. He obviously touched countless lives, and made all of them better. We will plant a tree here in Maine in his memory.
Let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Fondly, Dave and Diane

I am so sorry. Chris and my late husband, Jeff Taylor, perhaps are talking vintage BMW's in heaven. Prayers to the entire Auty family at this difficult time.

What a privilege I have had to learn from Chris how to care for staff, partners and patients, but never to put them before family. Thank you.
