Christopher Belcher Obituary

Christopher Belcher, 34

Holden - Christopher Ryan Belcher, 34, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. He was born in Worcester on October 25, 1985 and lived most of his life in Holden.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his son, Camden Lombardo of Boylston; his parents, John E. and Virginia "Ginny" (Ryan) Belcher of Holden; a brother, John E. Belcher III; a sister, Amy Dexheimer and her husband, Jay of Cary, North Carolina; three nephews and a niece whom he adored, Ryan, Jack, Ben and Ava Dexheimer; aunts and uncles and several cousins.

Chris was a 2004 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School in Holden where he played varsity football and baseball, and was a member of the Student Council, Best Buddies and the Wachusett Singers. He was also a graduate of St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, class of 2008. After graduating college, Chris taught locally for several years before deciding to work for Apex Entertainment in Marlborough. He loved working in the entertainment industry because of the connection he made with people from all walks of life.

He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Jefferson and was an assistant coach for both the junior varsity and varsity football programs at Wachusett Regional High School. Chris also coached baseball at Central Tree Middle School in Rutland. Coaching was truly a passion for Chris. He was committed to the Wachusett school community and genuinely and deeply cared about the young men he coached. He rarely met a stranger who wasn't soon considered a friend. Chris was the life of the party and was most comfortable just hanging out with family and friends. He was a loyal New England sports fan and particularly enjoyed following his beloved Patriots.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Chris' family from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 16, at St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Interment will follow in Grove Cemetery, Holden. The family has requested donations in lieu of flowers be made to Camden's educational fund, with checks payable to "Camden Joseph Lombardo",c/o Santander Bank, 164 Reservoir St., Holden, MA 01520. Claire and I remember one summer afternoon almost 30 years ago. We were sitting on Don and Nancy McKennetts deck in Quogue. Out came this adorable little boy in a white shirt, red bow tie and pants. We said Hi, Chris! And Chris Belcher looked at us very seriously and said Oh, no! I am Pee Wee! Call me
Pee Wee! Don laughed so hard he nearly fell off his chair! Chris always was fun and always made everyone smile and feel good! What a lovely person!
We send you all of our love and prayers at this very difficult time.

I knew Chris from Babe Ruth baseball, where he played on the same team as my son. I remember him for his smile, his positive attitude and the encouragement he always displayed toward his teammates. Sorry and sad for your loss.

Ginny , John , Amy and John: The more enriched a person makes our lives, the harder it is for us to let them go. For this reason,I know that saying goodbye to Chris will be the hardest sorrow to bear. I know that the wonderful memories you have of Chris will sustain you.. The love and friendship you have around you ,will support you through this time.
