Christopher J. Brown

Christopher J. "Chris" Brown, 53, of Shippensburg, PA, passed away January 14, 2026. He was born January 24, 1972, in Windber, PA, the son of James and Joan (Roles) Brown.

Chris worked for many years as a commercial roofer with Houck, Inc. but most recently was employed as a commercial truck driver with Best Line Equipment. He also enjoyed volunteering at different community events for The Lollipop Shop in Shippensburg.

Chris will be remembered as someone who was always the first one to show up when someone needed him. He always had a story about something and there was always a laugh to be had. For many of his closest friends, he had a nickname.

In his free time, you could find Chris with his closest friends and family at a gun drawing or playing bingo. He very much enjoyed hunting with nephew, Cameron Defenderfer and grandson, Gunner. One of his favorite things to do in the fall was head to Ocean City, MD for the "Endless Summer Crusin'" car show. He enjoyed spending time at Path Valley Speedway watching several family members and friends race.

Chris is survived by his mother, Joan, daughter Samantha Brown (Chad, significant other), step daughters Brooke Vaughn(Trent), Jessica Etter, and Alexis Etter. Siblings, Gary Brown(Savannah), Kevin Brown(Tiffany), Karen Gallagher(John), and Diane Scott. Grandsons, Gunner and Wyndham. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Chris is also leaving behind a large chosen family. People who made the decision to be family; Ty, Kristin, Mary, Keith, Eric, Kevin, Shannon, Jr, their families, and many more.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately after the viewing at Detrich-Brechbill American Legion Post 612, 7966 Lincoln Way West, Saint Thomas, Pa 17252
