Christopher Joseph Dailey passed away from injuries sustained in a car accident on June 30, 2025. He was just 18 years old. Chris was born in Beverly and grew up in Gloucester. Chris attended Rockport schools through 8th grade, and was involved in many youth sports including baseball, soccer and lacrosse; but his true love was hockey. Learning to skate at just two years old, Chris went on to become a four-year varsity player for the Gloucester High School Fishermen, serving as co-captain and earning the distinction of Defenseman of the Year his senior year. He was a member of the National Honor Society, and a proud graduate of the GHS Class of 2025, eagerly anticipating beginning his studies in business at Coastal Carolina University this fall.
Chris was known for his infectious personality, warm heart, and a contagious smile that lit up any room. He was known to be the "life of the party," and his adventurous spirit led him to spend treasured moments at the beach, fishing, skiing, riding dirt bikes, or just hanging out and making memories with friends and family. Chris was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or simply share laughter with classmates, teammates, and loved ones. He loved his family and friends unconditionally and never hesitated to share that love which will live eternally in our hearts forever.
Chris was a special gift to his parents, bringing immense joy to their lives. He also had an incredible connection with his sister Rachel; their bond was unbreakable, from childhood inseparability to the strengthening of their love in young adulthood.
A loving son to Rich and Nicole (Hochmuth) Dailey, and a devoted brother to Rachel Dailey of Gloucester, Chris cherished his family deeply. Christopher was also a proud grandson to Paul Hochmuth, and his wife Julia of Schenectady, NY, and Janet Dailey of Rockport, as well as nephew to Jim and Beth Dailey, and Kathy Hogan of Rockport; Stephanie and Mike Bracht of Moultrie, GA; Shannon and Pat Stusinski of Ballston Spa, NY; and Paul and Kate Hochmuth of Jacksonville, FL. He was beloved by his cousins, Emily, Matt, Jon, Sarah, Derek, Jared, Tyler, Jessica, Alex, and Charlotte. Christopher was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Russell Dailey of Rockport, and Debbie Hochmuth of Schenectady, NY.
His memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of those he touched with his kindness, love, and zest for life. His spirit of adventure, friendship, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all of us.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Ann's Church, 74 Pleasant St., Gloucester, MA on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:00 am. Interment will be held following the Mass at Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport MA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chris Dailey Memorial Scholarship Fund, Cape Ann Savings Bank, 109 Main Street, Gloucester, MA 01930.

Dear Dailey Family,
I didn´t know Chris but he seemed like the kind of person who was always happy, and when someone was down he´d brighten there day. I was told he was kind to everyone and an amazing hockey player. One of my friends told a great story about him that just showed how he was an amazing person and wanted to make people´s days better. My friend was down and when everyone else ignored her he didn´t he made her feel better. It´s her story so i don´t know everything but i know he was a kind person. I would just like to tell you he definitely made an impact and the people who knew him were lucky to. The people who didn´t would have loved him, I know I would have. I never heard anything bad about him. My brother never heard anything bad about him either. My family didn´t know him but we all know he had to have been an amazing person. I´m so sorry, he didn´t deserve what happened. I can´t imagine what your going through and I know there´s nothing I can to to make it better, but I just wanted to write. May he rest peacefully. He was gone way to soon. I´m sending so much love to your entire family and to everyone who needs a little extra right now. He will always be loved and missed by everyone in Gloucester.

With all my heart,
Addie Parisi
