Christopher Lee Daugherty

Christopher Lee Daugherty, 49, passed away at The University of Louisville Hospital on December 9, 2025. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 11, 1976.

Chris never met a stranger, greeting everyone with the kind of easy warmth and humor that made people feel instantly at home. Known for his selfless heart, he was always the first to lend a hand-usually with a joke ready to lighten the moment. He found joy under the hood of a car, fixing engines with the same patience and passion he brought to everything in life. A devoted NASCAR fan, he especially admired Dale Earnhardt Sr., cheering with unwavering loyalty and sharing that enthusiasm with anyone willing to listen. Above all, he was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sheila Ward; grandson, Archer Diehl; and brother, Brendan Daugherty.

Chris is lovingly remembered by his father, Steve Daugherty Sr. (Cindy); children, CJ Daugherty (Sophia Sanchez), Jordan Diehl (Josh Smith), and Darius Glynn; grandchildren, Carter Diehl, Elijah Diehl, Justin Srygler, Kyrin Glynn, Davion Glynn, and Journee Smith; brothers, Steve Daugherty Jr. and Eric Daugherty (Hope); and sister, Heather Cole.

His funeral services will be held at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. His visitation will be on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 3:00-7:00PM. The funeral service will be the next day starting at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
