Christopher Dill Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 14, 2026.
Christopher E. Dill, age 46, of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away at his home on Monday, February 9, 2026. Born April 10, 1979 in Gainesboro, Tennessee, Chris was the son of Donnie and Brenda (Heady) Dill. His father Donnie survives.

Remembered as a distinguished scholar and teacher, Chris graduated valedictorian of Jackson County High School's class of 1997. He held multiple degrees and awards in chemistry from Tennessee Technological University, where he was also extensively active in Greek life. Chris pledged the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, also known as Pike, in the fall of 1997 and was initiated in the Alpha Tau pledge class. During his active Pike brotherhood, he was an officer, served multiple years as the Scholarship Chairman, played on numerous winning athletic teams, and most of all was a zealous advocate for his Pike Chapter. He continued his strong advocacy as an alumnus by serving many years on the Alumni Board and then receiving the highest Alumni honor of being the Theta Upsilon Chapter Advisor.

Chris taught chemistry at Smith County High School for several years before accepting a teaching position at Cookeville High School. At the time of his passing, Chris was employed by Porelon.

A fan of the UT Vols, Chris enjoyed a wide range of music, golf, and being with friends.

Chris's most cherished role was that of dedicated father to his beloved boys: son Caleb Dill, of Clinton, Tennessee; and step-son, Parker Smith, of Cookeville. Also surviving are one brother, Corey (Jessica) Dill; niece, Jadyn Dill; and nephew, Jaren Dill, all of Gainesboro.

No public memorial services are planned at this time.
