Captain Robert Colonel Jackson, Sr., known affectionately to friends and family as R.C. Jackson, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, TN. Born on December 5, 1941, in Gainesboro, TN, to parents, Ben Kermit Jackson and Elisa Bernice Hembree Jackson. R.C. lived an honorable and impactful life that spanned 84 years, leaving behind a legacy of service, integrity, and love. He graduated from Jackson County High School in 1959.

R.C. Jackson was a man of unwavering principle, whose courage, intelligence, and selflessness shaped not only his life but also the lives of those around him. After graduating from high school, R.C. embarked on a career that would define much of his life's work. He completed the police officer academy with a steadfast determination to make a difference in his community. As a dedicated Police Officer for the Nashville Police Department, R.C. served the city of Nashville for 30+ years, with distinction, earning the respect of his colleagues and the community he protected. He retired in 1997 he was captain of C. I. D. Division Homicide. He went to the FBI national academy in Quantico, VA in 1976 in the106 class.

Throughout his career, R.C.'s bravery was matched only by his intellect and kindness. He approached each day with a sense of duty and a desire to uplift others, traits that made him not only an excellent officer but also a cherished friend and mentor. His involvement in police association activities further exemplified his commitment to his fellow officers and the law enforcement community.

Family was the cornerstone of R.C.'s life. He is survived by his beloved son, Robert Colonel Jackson, Jr., and his daughter-in-law, Sarah Annette Betts, both of Clarksville, TN. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Annelese Jackson and Christopher William Betts, also of Clarksville, TN. R.C., instilled in them the values of courage, love, and selflessness, and they will carry forward the wisdom and strength he imparted.

R.C. was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Patsy Goad.

R.C. Jackson's life reminds us that one person can indeed make a difference, and he did just that. We take solace in knowing that his was a life full of purpose, love, and unwavering dedication to the greater good. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 11 AM until 2 PM in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2 PM with Bro. Danny Hembree officiating. Internment will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery.
