Christopher Michael Durfee age 49 passed away at home in Joplin, Missouri on November 4, 2023, after
a short battle with cancer. Chris was born on December 15, 1973, to Micheal Durfee and Robyn Gould in
Salt Lake City, Utah. Chris moved to Joplin 2 years ago from Herriman, Utah. Chris loved the outdoors,
fishing, hunting and camping. Chris also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Chris worked in
the plumbing supply industry for 15 years. He also worked as a mechanic in Salt Lake City, Utah and
recently worked at O'Reilly's in Joplin, Missouri.
Chris married the love of his life Becky House on May 8, 2018, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Chris is survived by his wife Becky, 6 children Jason Durfee (Jessica) of Tooele, Utah, Cassie Durfee of Taylorsville, Utah, Elexsus McGregor, Braxton Durfee, Chaz Durfee all of Gilbert, Arizona, and Joshua House of Joplin, Missouri. Chris is also survived by parents Mike Durfee (Nadine) St. George, Utah, Robyn Peterson (Danny) Salt Lake City, Utah. Siblings Robert Durfee (Sherry) of West Jordan, Utah, Michelle Wadsworth (Tommy) of Crossville, Tennessee, Paul Durfee (Chantele) of South Boston, Virginia, Jamie Goodfellow of Salt Lake City, Utah and Patrick Peterson of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Chris is proceeded in death by his grandparents Howard and Margaret Durfee as well as Mark and
Darlene Gould and one niece Terra Wadsworth.
There will be a celebration of life held at a later date in Joplin, Missouri and in Salt Lake City, Utah as well. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Christopher Michael Durfee Memorial Fund through venmo @bmedic1027.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
