Christopher Augustine "Fizz" "Wizz" Engels

Christopher "Fizz" "Wizz" Augustine Engels passed away in his sleep on February 17, 2015 at his home in Rockville, MD at the age of 34. Christopher was born on May 15, 1980 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. He was raised in the Twinbrook neighborhood of Rockville, MD where he attended local public schools. As a youth, Christopher played for various city, county and school competitive sports leagues. He received his high school diploma from Freestate Military Academy in Aberdeen, MD. Christopher worked as a head bartender and cook at Hard Times Café in Bethesda, MD, in the summer months he also worked for All Seasons Pool and Spa in Laurel, MD. Christopher was happiest while working, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He loved to fish, teach others to fish, and spend time in Vermont and Tennessee. Christopher was kind and funny, had a contagious laugh, a bright smile and a genuine heart. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle and friend and will be sorely missed. He is survived by his mother and father, Belinda and James Engels of Rockville, MD, his brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Mia Oberosler of Mechanicsburg, PA, William and Debi Engels of Mount Juliet, TN, Gregory and Amy Engels of Germantown, MD, Robert and Katy Engels of Damascus, MD, Michael and Kerri Engels of Easton, MD, and his sister Theresa Engels of Wheaton, MD, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held on March 14, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:30 in the afternoon at The American Legion, 2013 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD 20851. In his memory, contributions can be made to the Frederick Optimist Club, PO Box 1398 Frederick, Maryland 21702 with the memo "Fish with a Cop - C.E."
