Christopher Corey Fulmar, known affectionately to friends and family as Corey, passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on March 2, 1980, in Trussville, Alabama, Corey was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him.
Corey was the beloved husband of Paige Henerey and a devoted father to Tyler Ware (Karlee), Baily Haynes, and Lily Haynes. He was a cherished Pop-pop to Phoenix and Natalia, who will miss his playful spirit and boundless affection. Predeceased by his parents, Robert Fulmar and Joni Cranford Fulmar, Corey was an only child who extended his sense of family far beyond blood relations, embracing his friends as kin.
For over 22 years, Corey poured his heart into the restaurant business, where he was not only a partner at Chicora Alley Firehouse Restaurant in Travelers Rest, SC, but also a mentor and friend to many in the industry. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to those he worked with, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that reflected his own personality.
An avid Alabama football fan, Corey's enthusiasm for his team was infectious. He could often be found cheering on the Crimson Tide, his spirit and energy elevating the excitement of the game. His love for his friends was unparalleled, and he was known for his generosity and the deep bonds he formed. As an only child, Corey's friends were his siblings in spirit, and he treasured each relationship deeply.
Corey's zest for life extended to his love of concerts, where he reveled in the music and the shared experience with those around him. His culinary curiosity led him to experiment with food, delighting in new flavors and creating dishes that were as inventive as they were delicious. His kitchen was a place of gathering, where stories were shared, and memories made.
As we bid farewell to Corey, we celebrate a life lived with passion and purpose. His laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering love for those around him will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Corey's legacy will continue to inspire us, reminding us to embrace life with the same fervor and heart that he did every day. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and joy to his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Chicora Ally Firehouse in Travelers Rest, SC, on August 4, 2025, from 4-7 . A non-profit organization will be announced at the celebration of life to donate in honor of Corey.
