Christopher Jimenez Obituary

Visit the Broadway Funeral Directors website to view the full obituary.

Christopher "Big Worm" Jimenez, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away on August 7, 2025, in his hometown of Lubbock, Texas. Born on November 9, 1977, Christopher lived a life that was full, vibrant, and deeply loved by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Christopher dedicated many years to his career as an owner-operator truck driver, a profession that took him across the roads of this great nation. While he loved the freedom that came with the open road, it was the love of his family and friends that truly anchored him. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Melissa Garza, whose companionship brought him immense joy and support throughout their life together.

Christopher's spirit was defined by a profound love for family. He was a proud father to his son, Anthony Teran, who was the light of his life, inspiring in him a sense of purpose and a future filled with promise. His family was his treasure; the bond with his parents, Robert and Diana Jimenez, and his siblings — brother Joe Riojas, and sister Lucy Castillo with her husband Ray Salas — was a cornerstone of his existence. Together, they created countless memories filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support.

In addition to his remarkable commitment to family, Christopher had diverse passions that enriched his life. He loved watching sports, particularly wrestling and UFC, where the excitement of competition stirred his enthusiasm. The thrill of the game extended to his own interests, like playing pool and baseball, which he enjoyed with friends and family. He also put great care into nurturing his yard, finding peace and satisfaction in its growth and beauty.

Christopher's vibrant personality shone through in the simple joys of life. He had a particular fondness for dining at Dion's, a place where he savored the flavors and company, where memories were made over shared meals and conversations. His presence touched many lives, and his ability to connect with others was a gift that left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A visitation in honor of Christopher will be held at Broadway Funeral Directors in Lubbock on August 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. A prayer service will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM, providing his family and friends the opportunity to come together in remembrance and reflection. Christopher will then be celebrated with a Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church on August 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM, allowing all who knew him to gather in love and solidarity.

As we remember Christopher "Big Worm" Jimenez, we celebrate the legacy of kindness, laughter, and love he leaves behind. Though he has departed from this earthly realm, his spirit will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have walked alongside him.
