Christopher Brian Johnson

Christopher Brian Johnson, 72, of Franklin died peacefully September 18 at his home with his family by his side following a long illness. He was the husband of Mary B. (Sullivan) Johnson for the past 42 years.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, October 3, 1952, the son of the late Robert and Virginia (Stickel) Johnson, Christopher was raised in Locust Valley, New York and had lived in Franklin since 1984.

Christopher was a graduate of Princeton University.

He had been a consulting actuary for retirement plans, starting at Mutual Benefit Life, moving on to Towers Watson for many years, finishing his career at Fidelity Investments before retiring in 2015.

More recently, he served on the Board of Directors of Walpole Co-Operative Bank for several years.

Christopher enjoyed doing the New York Times crossword puzzles, blogging, playing golf, rooting for the Red Sox, traveling the world with his wife, and spending time with his three sons, their wives, and five grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Christopher Johnson and his wife Fahima of Arlington, Virginia, Timothy Johnson and his wife Catherine of Natick, Massachusetts, and Gregory Johnson and his wife Sydney of Bethesda, Maryland.

Chris is also survived by his brother Robert Johnson of Denver, Colorado and was the brother of the late Douglas Johnson.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Patrick (6), Aiden (4), Grace (3), Layla (1), and Daisy (9 months).

The family would like to thank the nurses of Beacon Hospice Care of Metrowest for their compassionate and kind treatment afforded Christopher and his family during his illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Christopher's life on Saturday October 4, 2025 from 12-4pm at Primavera, 20 Pleasant St, Millis, MA 02054.
