Christopher Scott Kolmetz, Age 54, Cleveland, TN., left this world surrounded by his loving family in his home on Sept. 09, 2025. Mr. Kolmetz was born on Dec. 25, 1970 in Detroit MI. Chris relocated to Tennessee in 2021. He graduated from Lincoln Park High School where he played basketball. He was a long time resident of the downriver communities of Lincoln Park, Taylor, and Woodhaven, MI. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Steven Kolmetz, and his mother Henrietta Teresa Sizemore. Chris leaves his wife Tammy Marie Kolmetz of 35 years, and two sons Mason Scott, and Dale Andrew. Chris was Catholic and had a strong connection to his faith.
Chris loved cars and the car atmosphere of the Detroit area. He began working as a mechanic and graduated to care and maintenance of heavy equipment where he spent most of his career. He worked for General Motors for several years as well as major manufacturers such as Hoist, and Hyster-Yale. He was certified in several areas of the business often outpacing his employers in knowledge.
Chris was not only loved by his family, but his friends and neighbors. He was a giant of a man but a gentle giant and loved children. There wasn't much that was asked of him that he didn't try to do for others. He was a good neighbor and friend in every sense of the word. He was fortunate to have kept the same neighbors in Woodhaven for many years. Those neighbors became family, not just friends.
Chris had a personality that was tempered and empathetic. He seldom lost his temper and was able to intervene in conflicts and bring things to a calm close. He went along with most things and always did his best to whatever the situation was to make it happier. He could be funny but was never out of line, and could laugh at himself. Everyone enjoyed being around Chris from the young to the old.
Though his time was far too short, Chris left behind a life rich in love, laughter, and memories. He will be remembered always and forever missed by those who loved him most.
