Christopher MacVean Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A. G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. on Jul. 14, 2023.
Christopher Dean MacVean, age 40, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023.
The son of Dean and Suzanne MacVean, he was born in Amsterdam, NY, grew up in Gloversville, NY, and most recently resided in Fort Johnson, NY.
Chris was born on September 30, 1982, one of three children. He attended Mayfield Central High School. On July 29, 2017 he married Rachel Sanford. He was employed by Target Distribution in various roles for nearly 20 years.
Surviving him are his wife Rachel and his beloved children Benjamin and Penelope; his parents, sisters Katrina Martens (Josh) and Julie Stover (Mike), and numerous extended family members, as well as his cat (Ron).
Chris was a devoted husband and father, an amazing and tireless provider, with a stellar work ethic. He deeply loved the children, and never missed a soccer practice or dance recital. He loved his family, often hosting gatherings at his home. He was a true friend: if a friend needed help he was the first one there, willing to help with the most challenging projects without hesitation. He loved the outdoors building fires, mowing his lawn, riding four wheelers and snow machines, tending his chickens. He enjoyed playing Magic the Gathering with friends. Chris was a husband, father, son, brother, friend you could count on.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the Adirondack Baptist Church, 1431 NY-29, Gloversville, NY.
Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
Interment will be at the Union Mills Cemetery in Broadalbin, NY immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chris' honor can be made to his children Benjamin and Penelope.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
