Christopher Lawrence Morgan, a lifelong resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away on May 9, 2025, following a brief illness. He was just two weeks shy of his 70th birthday. Chris was a proud Fayetteville native and a member of the Reid Ross High School Class of 1973.
In 1998, Chris married the love of his life, Mary, gaining not only a partner but also a cherished daughter, Callie. Two years later, their family grew with the birth of their daughter, Grey. Chris was a devoted husband and father, wholeheartedly supporting his daughters in every endeavor and taking great pride in their accomplishments. The simple things in life made him happy- the beach, a clean truck, a good cup of coffee, UNC Tar Heel athletics, and spending time with his family and friends.
Chris was a respected and enduring figure in the distribution power industry, dedicating over four decades of his life to supporting and servicing the power providers that work tirelessly to keep the lights on. Known for his deep and unmatched expertise - particularly in voltage regulators, Chris was the trusted advisor that colleagues and peers turned to when navigating complex technical challenges. His knowledge was matched only by his unwavering commitment to those he served. Chris' dedication extended far beyond the bounds of a typical workday. Whether it was a weekend, late night, or holiday, he was always available to lend his support to those who needed him. For him, every customer was more than a client; they were friends. His selflessness and genuine care and concern for others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by the industry he helped shape, the customers he faithfully served, and the many colleagues and friends whose lives he touched with kindness and integrity.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Ruby Morgan. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Morgan of Fayetteville; his daughters, Callie Leechford of Fayetteville, and Grey Morgan of Raleigh; his sister Daisy Morgan of Fayetteville; his sister Terrie Hutaff and her husband Hank of Morehead City; and his brother Danny Morgan of Fayetteville. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
A funeral service celebrating Chris' life will be held at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church at 614 Oakridge Avenue, Fayetteville, NC 28305, at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. The family will receive friends at the church hall at 10:00am-10:55am. A traditional "Makaria" meal will be served following the service. The burial will be at Lafayette Memorial Park at 3:00pm.
Chris' family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate care he received during his final weeks. The love and support provided during this time has meant the world to them. Chris will be deeply missed, not just for his wisdom and strength, but for the love and warmth he brought to everyone around him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chris' name may be made to Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church.
May his memory be eternal.

My heart is Broken. I cannot properly convey just how much Chris did for me. He was always there to help me throughout my teens and twenties. He literally rescued me from a horrible situation (s), I have always been so grateful and pray for him daily. I was so very happy when he found True Love and had the Beautiful Family he always yearned for. Chris will be missed by so many people. He was a Great Man, A Wonderful Friend, A Hard Worker, A Loving Husband & Father...Chris was a Blessing!! My Heart Aches for Mary and The Girls, for Danny, Daisy, & Terry. Peace Be With Them. We have lost One of The Good Guys!
