Chris married the love of his life, Karen, just a year before his discharge. Together, they welcomed two beautiful daughters, Kelly and Kimberly, who brought immense joy to their lives and helped shape the wonderful family they built together. After his military service, Chris continued to serve his country by working for the Army Corps of Engineers as a lock master on the Mississippi River. His commitment to public service didn't stop there, Chris and a colleague volunteered to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan, demonstrating his unwavering dedication. Upon retirement, Chris and Karen embarked on a new journey as volunteers for the Peace Corps in Swaziland. Their time there reinforced Chris's belief in the power of community and compassion, as they worked to make a positive impact in the lives of those they encountered. Chris will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his dedication to his country, and the unconditional love he shared with his family. Gail and I met Chris in July, 2010 in Swaziland. Chris was serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer at the Pasture Valley Children“s Home, Karen had gone back to USA with a medical issue. We took over Chris position at Pasture Valley so he could return home. In the short time together we learned a lot about Chris, his love of service and his kindness for the people of Swaziland and the children of Pasture Valley. Chris left a great impression and we have often thought of him fondly, especially when we wear the Santa suit he sent over to the orphanage. Rest in Peace Chris, and Go well.
